AI Phone Receptionist

EigenPhone

Answer routine calls, capture the details, and route the next action to the right person or workflow.

How a call is handled

Each call is resolved against bounded authority: routine requests the system is permitted to handle are completed and recorded, and everything else is routed to the right person with the relevant context, notes, and requested action attached. The outcome lives in the call record rather than in memory or on a follow-up list.

The problem it addresses

Phone work is operationally expensive in a specific way: every call consumes a person, the knowledge lives in whoever picks up, and almost nothing from the conversation becomes structured data. Calls after hours go unanswered, and a routine question takes the same effort as a complex one.

What shipped

A production system on Eigenvalue’s cloud infrastructure, integrated with telephony and operational tooling. It runs as an always-available front door rather than a demonstration: the system answers, acts, records, and escalates, and remains operable by the team that owns the phone line.

Major capabilities

  • AI phone receptionist for inbound customer and member calls
  • Caller identification and context lookup before answering
  • Routine request handling with clear boundaries on what it will and will not do
  • Note capture, call summaries, and task creation in operational systems
  • Warm transfers to a person with the conversation context attached
  • Defined after-hours behavior and escalation paths
  • Call monitoring, transcripts, and an administrative view
  • Multi-caller concurrency without queue collapse
  • Integration with the systems where the work actually lives

Production notes

EigenPhone runs as production software with monitoring, an administrative interface, and explicit escalation behavior. Failure paths, not just happy paths, are exercised before a change reaches the live line. Call records and tasks are written to the operating systems rather than held inside the voice platform, so the business keeps its own data.
